The .44-40 Winchester cartridge is a versatile one that can be chambered in revolvers and rifles. The Model 1873 was a popular choice along the American frontier because of that, as well as for its reliability and 15-round magazine capacity. This particular rifle was built in 1880, according to the Winchester serial number lookup charts. It's in good used condition with no visible rust or major damage. Photographs tell the story here. The action is smooth, the bore is clean and bright, and the rifling looks good. No box or case is included.
