It is a Harry Jarvis signed Class A Factory Engraved 6-round double and single action revolver. It is a K-Target Frame with a square-butt and five screws. It is chambered in .22 Long Rifle, has a 4 inch solid rib pinned barrel, and a bore that is in excellent condition.  Based on the included Smith and Wesson factory letter, this revolver was made in 1955 or 1956. This factory engraved revolver by Harry Jarvis is considered to be a museum-grade rarity in collector circles. According to the factory letter, this revolver was sent by truck from their Roosevelt Avenue factory on January 31,1966 and was delivered to Dayton Gun Works, 2306 North Main Street, Dayton, Ohio. The letter also states that this particular revolver may have been in a showcase and pulled to be sold to Dayton.  The features this revolver has matches what is in the factory letter. The engraved blue finish is in SPECTACULAR condition. The detailed floral engravings by former Smith and Wesson engraver Harry Jarvis cover all visible portions of the revolver and are simply jaw dropping! Jarvis worked at Smith and Wesson from 1903-1958. Revolvers he engraved only left the factory in shipments of 4 to 7 firearms. The barrel flat is marked "HR JARVIS". The barrel flat , rear of the cylinder, and the butt of the frame are marked with the serial number "K249667". The yoke and yoke cut are marked "P 3308". The timing and lock up are perfect based on visual inspection. It has a fluted cylinder, an unshrouded ejector rod, checkered cylinder release, a checkered hammer, and a serrated trigger. The trigger and hammer have a color case finish.  The left side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON”. The right side of the barrel is marked “* .22 LONG RIFLE CTG *”. The left side of the frame is marked a small S&W emblem,  The right side of the frame is marked “MADE IN U.S.A.” and the Marcas Registradas. The top strap and rib are serrated to reduce glare. It has a 1/8 inch Baughman Quick Draw serrated ramp front sight. The rear sight is a serrated square-notch that is fully adjustable. It has 2-piece smooth Gonzalos target grips with silver S&W emblems. The grips are in great shape with no cracks. The underside of the grips are not marked. The front strap is covered by the grips, and back strap is serrated.  A BEAUTIFUL wood presentation case with a fitted blue felt lining is included with a cleaning kit. This revolver qualifies as a Curio and Relic and can ship where legally allowed. This VERY RARE and BEAUTIFUL vintage revolver would make a great addition to any firearms collection.
