This example dates to 1967 (Italian date code XXIII) and remains in exceptionally well-preserved original condition. For perspective, the 1967 Shooter's Bible listed the Franchi Monte Carlo Grade (one grade below the Monte Carlo Extra) at $1,300. In the same publication, a Browning Superposed Midas Grade was priced at $1,100, illustrating the premium position Franchi placed on these top-tier guns. The shotgun features 28" (27 7/8") Bohler Antinit steel barrels fitted with a Broadway-style ventilated rib. Chambers measure 2 3/4" and the barrels are choked Modified and Full. The gun is equipped with a single selective inertia trigger, automatic safety, and gold barrel-selection indicators incorporated into the safety slide. The round-body receiver is beautifully engraved in a flowing floral pattern with stylized wolves and tigers expertly integrated into the design. Additional premium features include a rolled-edge trigger guard, horn buttplate secured with hand-engraved slotted screws, beavertail forend, and finely executed checkering throughout. Condition is excellent. The gun shows no appreciable wear with only a few minor handling marks in the wood. Mechanics are fully functional and the gun retains its correct original Luigi Franchi leather hard case. No key is provided. Specifications
