Magazine has been shortened to where this gun has a button magazine profile. The metal has a dark brown patina. Throughout. The wood is very good. This gun came out of a collection of guns that were owned by different lawmen and outlaws of the Old West. The left side plate of the gun is marked “Tom Pickett/ Arizona Territory/ 1885" Tom Pickett was in Billy the Kid’s gang. He was a gambler, cattle rustler and murderer in his early years before he settled down and married. His wife and child died during child birth. He held a variety of jobs following this including being a stage coach driver at Fort Apache and being a deputy US Marshall twice. He died in Winslow Arizona in 1934. While this gun came out of a very good collection and this gun is marked, we do not guarantee the inscription as being to the period and we do not have any other documentation that this gun did belong to Tom Pickett.
