Standard configuration Winchester M1895 Lee Navy, straight-pull bolt action rifle, cal. 6mm Lee Navy, SN: 3516, made 1895-1896, shipped as part of the first US Navy contact 1896/1897, with hooded post front sight, notched battle/ladder sight marked from 6-20. The left side of the receiver has the two-line Winchester address/patent info. On the top of the receiver is “-U.S.N.-/Anchor/No 3516/-N.C.T.-”. Body of bolt and bolt handle with a scattering of inspection stars and an occasional inspection initial. Unmarked walnut handguard and stock, the front two barrel bands with rotating sling swivels, a third rotating swivel in front of the magazine well, a fourth on the lower spine of the buttstock. Fitted with a smooth, sliding door buttplate with an enclosed cleaning pull-through. ANTIQUE!

Condition:

VG-EXC original finish with sharp edge wear, fading, and early toning in usual areas of handling, particularly the barrel bands and bolt knob. Original finish handguard and stock with a scattering of handling marks and an occasional shallow bruise. Mirror bright bore. Correct manual mechanics.
