Description:
FN Custom Shop D4G Special Order 12 gauge Superposed with 27 1/2" barrels with file cut ventilated narrow game rib, swan's neck straight grip stock of exhibition grade French walnut with schnabel  or tulip style forend. Signed " Fabrique Nationale- Herstal" on left breech of barrels. 2 3/4" chambers, choked .011" (IC) in bottom, .026" (IMOD) in top. Bores are excellent, rear position mechanical ST of the post 1972 design, wgt.7 lbs., signed by Cargnel & Bellfroid, 1975 production, Excellent deep cut Germanic game scene & scroll similar to a Diana grade, but much more extensive. Toplever to the right and hinge is tight. Bore diameters .726" in top & bottom. 15 1/8" LOP from REAR position trigger. 1 1/2" DAC, 2 1/4" DAH, 1/4" cast off for right hand. The price of a D4G in 1975 was $3,250 to $4,000, depending on options as opposed to $2,650 for a Midas in the U. S., so not an inexpensive gun. The D5 grade actually sold for less money than the D4G in that time frame. This was about the highest grade offered unless you went to the sideplated models. This gun would be well North of $35,000 today with a long wait time. Beautifully appointed gun that is a joy in the field. $14,500 OBO
