Description:
Approximately 8000 Model 1816 US W.T.Wickham muskets were converted from flintlock by Hawes. & Phillips in 1861-1862 mostly for the State of New Jersey as marked at the breach.  The Walnut stock is in very good condition with a cartouche on the left flat.  The 41.25" barrel has both front and rear leaf sights.  The 69 caliber bore is dark and has not been cleaned. The functioning lock is marked US W.T.Wickham, 1828 Phila.  All metal parts have a brown patina.  The breach is marked 1861 H&P N.J., also the nipple is broke. These Model Cars 1816's were used during early Indian wars. Mexican war and through the civil war.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
