Description:
The Springfield Armory Model RM1308SPECIAL (often designated as RM1308SPECIAL) is a special-grade M1 Garand refurbished and sold by the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP). Chambered in 308 Win, it features a commercial barrel (such as a CBI barrel) and is built using mostly original Springfield Armory parts and a new walnut stock. These rifles were built by CMP armorers specifically for modern competitive shooting and ease of ammunition availability. Because they are chambered in .308, they do not require "Garand-safe" light-load ammunition or an aftermarket adjustable gas plug like the traditional .30-06 versions do. Serial Number: 1547712. May 1943 production receiver. Comes with Factory CMP Hard Case, Strap, 2 en-bloc clips and "RM1308SPECIAL" marked certificate of authenticity. .308 Winchester
