Description:
The Rast & Gasser M1898 is a double-action, solid-frame revolver that served as the standard sidearm of the Austro-Hungarian Army from 1898 through the end of World War I in 1918. Chambered in the proprietary 8mm Gasser cartridge, this robust and reliable revolver earned a reputation for durability under harsh military conditions. Manufactured by Rast & Gasser of Austria, the M1898 remained in frontline service throughout the war. This example exhibits pitting throughout the metal surfaces consistent with age and service use; however, it remains mechanically functional, making it a desirable collectible military firearm with authentic historical character.
