Few imported AK-pattern rifles have earned the respect of serious collectors quite like the Egyptian Maadi ARM. Manufactured at Egypt’s Maadi Factory using Soviet-influenced AKM production methods, these rifles have long been regarded as some of the closest commercially imported counterparts to the legendary Soviet AKM. This example, serial number AC0041157, combines authentic Egyptian manufacture, desirable Intrac import pedigree, and classic AKM styling in one increasingly scarce package.
Built around a stamped receiver and chambered in the battle-proven 7.62×39mm cartridge, the Maadi delivers everything enthusiasts expect from a true AKM-pattern rifle. The long-stroke gas piston system, rotating bolt, tangent rear sight, protected front sight assembly and steel magazine configuration remain faithful to the Kalashnikov formula that became the benchmark for reliability across the globe.
The collector appeal begins with the markings. The rifle retains its Egyptian factory crest and Maadi rollmarks, immediately distinguishing it from the countless commercial AK variants that followed. Equally important is the presence of the desirable A.C.C. INT/INTRAC Knoxville, Tennessee import marking.
