Description:
This is a full box, 20 rounds, of .40-72 WCF black powder ammunition manufactured by Winchester for the Model 1895 rifle with 330 grain lead bullets. Introduced in both smokeless and black powder loading this two piece square corner box is from that early type introduced in 1895 and used until 1915. The box shows some edge wear and seam separation with a slight crush on the bottom right corner. The graphics are good with flaking and some light staining. The cartridges show varying amounts of age darkening and two distinct lead bullet types with some perhaps reloaded.
