Description:
I'm selling my collection. Here is an Antique  French Gras model 1874 battel rifle. Antique no FFL required. It’s chambered in 11mmx59R caliber. Manufactured in 1876 in the Arsenal Goverment factory of "Manufacture d'Armes St Étienne", with all the military approval crisp markings. In good working condition, with a 32.1/2" barrel with a good bore with sharp rifling. Serial numbers are not matching as they rarely do, the french military firearms industry of the time was so proud of its remarkable precision of parst inter-changeability. Comes with its needed (black powder) original cleaning rod. and with its typical leather sling (same one for 100 year). The metal factory blue finish rates 75% & the wood was nicely smoothed up like hi quality hunting rifle, it kept the round dovel in the middle of the catouche is visible, all is accurately photographed. The action is a bit too firm. It could come with its an original St Etienne bayonet Juillet 1879 marked on the edge for only $120. These long barrel rifles are fun to shoot and very accurate with its long barrel with available proper reloads the target showed on one of the picture  was shot of another Gras at 50 yard with reload. Replacing the famous Chassepot needle rifle, these Gras model 1874 single shot battle rifle served successfully from 1874-1886, the fusil Gras equipped the older ones in the rear in the WWI. 400.000 were manufactured. These military rifles served in many armies: France, Chile, China, Greek-Turkish war, Balkan, Italo-Ethiopian war etc... I haven't shot this one. I described it to the best of my knowledge. The ammunitions & illustrations showed on pictures are not for sale. Please don't ask for extra pictures. $735+ $95 insured shipping to your  home address, payable by cashier check or credit card with the usual charging fee. Please check out my other guns which are already set at a low price. Thank you.
