The .32 Top-Break 3rd Model refers to one of two highly collectible antique pocket revolvers produced by Smith & Wesson: the .32 Double Action (3rd Model) or the .32 Safety Hammerless (3rd Model). Both are 5-shot, top-break \"break open\" firearms chambered for the vintage .32 S&W short cartridge.
This model features an exposed external hammer that can be manually cocked for single-action fire or pulled straight through for double-action fire.Production Years: Manufactured from 1882 to 1883.Serial Number Range: 43,406 to 327,641 (Note: Serial numbers for this specific variant are shared across a broad sequence, but the 3rd Model design details isolate its early 1880s assembly).Distinguishing Feature: The side walls of the trigger were redesigned to fully encase and cover the rear sear and cylinder stop mechanism.
