The Antonio Zoli Combination Gun is a classic European hunting arm designed to offer the versatility of both a shotgun and a rifle in a single, well-balanced firearm. Built in Italy by Antonio Zoli, these combination guns are renowned for their quality construction, elegant styling, and practical field performance, making them ideal companions for driven hunts and mixed-game pursuits.
This example is chambered in 12 gauge with 2.75-inch chambers over 7x65R, one of Europe's most respected sporting cartridges. It features 25.375-inch barrels, with the shotgun barrel choked Full (.038") and the rifle barrel chambered for the versatile 7x65R. Weighing 7 pounds 8.9 ounces without the scope and 8 pounds 9.9 ounces with the scope installed, the gun balances well for both wingshooting and precision rifle work.
Built on a strong boxlock action, the gun is equipped with double triggers, a push-set front trigger, extractor, non-automatic safety, and a robust double locking cross-bolt. Mechanically, it remains in very good condition. The shotgun bore is clear, the rifle bore has sharp rifling, the action operates smoothly and locks up tight, and the triggers are crisp. The front trigger may be pushed forward to function as a precision set trigger for rifle shooting.
The coin-finished receiver features beautifully executed game scene engraving with scroll borders. The left side depicts a red stag with two hinds in a mountain setting, the bottom of the action features another red stag surrounded by flowing acanthus scroll, and the right side is engraved with a matching mountain game scene of a red stag and two hinds. The blued steel barrels provide an elegant contrast to the engraved action.
The gun is fitted with a Hensoldt Wetzlar Dialyt-D 6x42 scope mounted in traditional German claw mounts. The optics are clear with a crisp reticle, while the claw mount system allows the scope to be removed and replaced while maintaining excellent return to zero. Iron sights consist of a matted quarter rib with a flip-up rear sight and ramped front bead sight.
The walnut stock features a right-handed cheekpiece and is paired with a matching forend. Both the pistol grip and forend retain strong, sharp checkering, completing the classic European styling.
