Description:
A fantastic Colt New Navy .38 Revolver in the 1892-1902 series. Minimal finish loss turning into a brownish patina. Many of the pictures reflect much of the mirror finish still on the gun. Hints of fire blue nitre finish on the trigger, grip screw and backside of hammer. Lock up is tight with correct left turning cylinder. Bore and cylinder are bright with a faint patch of pitting in barrel. Front of cylinder face has some stubborn carbon build up. Grips are hard rubber with no cracks or chips.
As per the Colt Factory Letter, this one was shipped in 1902 to the Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York. The butt is marked with the factory serial number of 190338 as well as the Navy assigned number of 13032. If also bears the USN, J.A.B. inspector marks, and Anchor on the butt.
Also accomanying this is a correct period leather ammo belt pouch carrier. Outside is marked with large USN. Outer snap has brass USN mark. Wooden block is in suprisingly great shape for its age. It is made to hold 6 loose rounds and 2 packs of .38.
It would be hard to improve on this model. A great collectible piece for your military firearms.
