Description:
Here is a solid stagecoach double barrel 12 gauge shotgun. It has a factory made W F & Co. Brass label on the right side of the stock. The wood has a nicely checkered wrist and forearm. Stagecoach companies, express companies, bank guards, jail and prison guards used these for the formidable and terrorizing effects that they could bring to bear. What a colorful and dramatic weapon.
The gun maker's mark is shown on the left lock plate. “THE AMERICAN GUN CO. New York”.
The top of the left barrel is marked Genuine Armory Steel. The bores are shinny and look fine and the action works well. The hammers cock and fire correctly. The barrel length is 20”. This is an antique and can be shipped directly to you.
