Springfield Model 1861 Civil War Musket 58 cal smoothbore, Mech Exc, Wood VG with cartouche ,has a fine line crack on the left side that fades out 2,” around the lockplate rear bolt . Has an original 40” rd barrel with original front sight but rear sight is correct but a reproduction. The Lockplate is dated 1861 and has a partially visible eagle and US Springfield markings. Has original 3 barrel bands and sling swivels and the ramrod shows age . Metal overall has an aged grey brown patina finish with some fine pitting in areas. Has an original US marked buttplate.
