Has 3 original barrel bands on the forewood and a ramrod which is probably from a civil war musket. These were used in the civil war and given to volunteers. The lockplate is marked with an eagle and US under and marked at the rear of the plate Springfield 1832 as a flintlock then converted in the 1840’s to percussion. The barrel has a good nipple which was screwed into the barrel called a Belgian conversion. Metal overall has an aged dark grey patina finish with fine to light pitting in areas mainly the breech,triggerguard and hammer area. Has an original buttplate US marked. Price: $850.00 Antique: Yes |
