J P Gemmer ,St Louis ,original flintlock rifle.32 cal. 33 inch barrel very nice rifled bore,much plum brown finish.weight a little over 8 lbs.Very nicely accented with german silver mounts,buttplate,triggerguard,thimbles, nosecap,toeplate.Lock and set triggers work as they should .Full length stock is exellent,no bumps or splits and has most original finish. Lock marked Kirkman&Ellis,parts supplier in Nashville Tenn.Frizzen resoled long ago.Gemmer was hired by Samuel Hawken as an employee in his shop and took over the shop in 1861,retired 1915,died1919.This gun has all the lines and feel of the famous rifles produced in that shop.Buyer pays actual shipping and ins.
