Description:
FOR SALE IMI ACTION ARMS UZI MODEL A, MODEL B SET WITH .45 ACP CONVERSION KIT

UZI model A and Model B set includes .45 ACP conversion kit. Please see history below. Actually, imported in lower numbers that thought. Our research indicates neither are Pre–Bann Firearms and is reflected in the price. Model A is fitted with 16” barrel. The model B is sporting a threaded 16” barrel.
Uzi Model A Import Dates and Markings
The Uzi Model A was produced by Israel Military Industries (IMI) and imported into the U.S. by Action Arms, Ltd. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, starting in the early 1980s. The Model A was introduced at the 1980 SHOT Show and became popular as a semi-automatic carbine.
Import Timeline Early 1980s: First Uzi Model A carbines began arriving in the U.S. via Action Arms imports Pre?1986: Imports continued before the McClure–Volkmer Act (May 19, 1986) restricted new full?automatic machine guns to law enforcement and dealers.
  • 1989: The U.S. import ban on full?automatic Uzis ended, but by then Action Arms had already sold about 72,000 semiautomatic Uzis (Model A and Model B combined).
Serial Number Ranges and Markings
According to HK Proshop’s model A/B markings data.
  • Model A: Serial numbers SA 01001 through SA 37000.
    • Left receiver: “UZI semi?auto / MODEL A / 9mm PARA / IMI – ISRAEL”
    • Right receiver: “ACTION ARMS, LTD / Phila. Pa. / serial number”
    • Underneath: no additional markings.
  • Model B: Serial numbers SA 37001 through SA 73589 (purportedly ends at SA 73544).
    • Left receiver: “UZI semi?auto (no dot on the ‘i’) / MODEL B / 9mm PARA / IMI – ISRAEL”
    • Right receiver: “ACTION ARMS, LTD / Phila. Pa. / serial number”
    • Underneath: no additional markings.
Key Points
  • The Model A was the original semiautomatic Uzi carbine design by Uziel Gal, adapted for U.S. export.
  • The Model B (introduced in 1983) added a firing pin safety and minor sight/sling changes.
  • All Uzi Model A carbines imported by Action Arms carry the mandatory U.S. importer’s warning rollmark on the top of the receiver: “ALTERATIONS TO THIS FIREARM ARE UNSAFE AND ILLEGAL / READ MANUAL BEFORE OPERATING”.
  • Because Action Arms was founded in 1979, no Model A carbines were imported before that date .
In summary: Uzi Model A carbines were imported into the U.S. from the early 1980s through the early 1980s, with serial numbers up to SA 37000, produced by IMI and marked with the Action Arms import stamp. The import ban on full?automatic Uzis ended in 1989, but by then the Model A was already well into its production run.
Uzi Model B Import Dates and Markings
For Uzi Model B semi-automatic carbines, the import date is typically indicated on the right receiver by the importer’s stamp, most often Action Arms, Ltd. with the city/state “Phila.Pa.” and a serial number prefix.
Model B serial number ranges (left receiver markings)
  • SA 37001 through SA 59969 – left receiver: UZI semi-auto (no dot on the "i")/MODEL B/9mm PARA/IMI – ISRAEL
  • SA 60159 through SA 63815 – same left receiver markings
  • SA 64245 through SA 73589 – same left receiver markings
The right receiver will have the importer’s stamp. For pre-ban Action Arms imports, the stamp is “ACTION ARMS, LTD / Phila.Pa.” with the serial number.
Import date determination:
  • Action Arms was founded in 1979, so any gun with an Action Arms import stamp is post-1979.
  • Pre-ban Uzi Model B carbines (transferable to civilians) were imported by Action Arms prior to 1989.
  • The exact year of import is not always visible on the stamp, but collectors and dealers often date them based on serial number ranges and known import batches.
  • For example, a Model B with SA 37001–59969 serials and an Action Arms stamp is generally considered a pre-1989 import, making it eligible for civilian transfer under pre-1968 Gun Control Act rules.
Key points for collectors:
  • Pre-ban Model B carbines are rare and highly sought after.
  • Look for the “UZI semi-auto (no dot on the 'i')” left receiver marking and the Action Arms stamp on the right.
  • Serial numbers in the SA 37001–73589 range are all Model B, but pre-ban imports are limited to those imported before 1989.
  • Post-1989 imports are not transferable to civilians in the U.S. due to the 1986 McClure–Volkmer Act .

We are selling these as a collection, you can partner with someone and transfer appropriately on your end.
I would recommend you register as a pistols, if legal in your state and have the option to install standard 10.5” barrels.

These are previously owned firearms and appear to be unfired. We highly recommend these weapons be inspected by a qualified gunsmith before firing. Includes 1 short and 1 long mag for each firearm. We may have 45 magazines in our shop but no guarantee.
