Description:
24 inch round barrel showing standard Winchester Nickel Steel barrel markings with “32 W.S.” marked on left side of chamber. 32 WS was available by special order only. Pinned blade in post front sight with brass bead, a filler blank in the rear dovetail and a Lyman No. 48-W receiver sight. Checkered select grade walnut pistol grip stock with Schnabel tipped fore end fit with sling eyes and a ribbed steel buttplate. Very good condition overall with metal surfaces being mostly clean and smooth showing about 80% finish starting to tone slightly brown. Bright shiny bore with decent rifling. Stock is solid showing a pleasant tiger stripe pattern with a few handling marks scattered here and there. Manufactured in 1929. Comes with book “Winchester Model 54 Bolt Action Rifle 1925-1936” by David P. Bichrest where this gun is listed by serial number on page 128.
