The Colt Lightning, chambered in .38-40 Winchester (.38 Caliber) with a 26-inch barrel, is a highly collectible, vintage slide-action (pump-action) rifle. First introduced by Colt in 1884, the Lightning rifle series was engineered to compete directly with Winchester's dominant lever-action platforms. A rifle with a 26-inch barrel is classified as the "Standard Rifle" configuration of the "Medium Frame" model, which was produced from 1884 until 1904. Full-length tubular magazine positioned under the barrel. Built with high-grade American walnut stocks. Features straight grips and a crescent steel buttplate. The slide forearm is checkered for a secure grip. .38-40 WCF
