About Us: I am a private party buyer (Now Seller) who aimed to find quality guns for my personal collection. All my guns were purchased from reputable dealers or private collections. Life events have changed my focus, time to let go a few of my pieces.

Description:
This Pattern 1881 “Lanz Owen & Co, Chicago” Calvary Flap Holster is in excellent condition. The nicest I’ve ever come across. “US” Logo is crisp and clear. This rare (3) Rivet Holster indicates it is a Pre-1896 loop modification. The holster is the 2-hole flap model for use with a Colt SAA or the S & W Schofield revolver. The holster has the maker mark “Lanz Owen & Co, Chicago” on the back of the belt loop. There is also an inspector’s mark “CV” or “GV” on the front flap, below the 2 holes. Stitching is intact and the original toe plug in place. The leather is supple, showing no oiling in modern times. It shows gentle use with only some fine crazing (but no damage) to the front flap.
Adding to its historic value. The Inner flap displays a name, date and location. Potentially the soldier whom this holster was assigned to.
Best I can makeout:
S. Earl Cheesbro – Dec 25 1895 (or 1905?), Pontoosuc, Ill
This Historic Holster would make a great addition to any serious Calvary/Military collection.
NOTE: The 1891 SAA used in these pics is NOT part of the sale.
