       This Early Civil War Wooden Patent Model Of A Fortress Wall Battery Cannon In Fine Untouched Condition. All original & complete. Circa 1840's to 1860. The fortress battery cannon works by lunging forward and out when firing. This action when firing would help protect the cannon from being damaged. This type of cannon would be mounted into the walls of a fortress. It is on a swivel base so it can be  turned in any direction. The barrel is drilled through & there is a spring loaded hammer at the rear of the cannon. The cannon & base measure 18 inches long X 5 1/2" wide X 6 1/2 inches high. The barrel has a good boreand there is a spring loaded hammer at the back of the barrel. This Is A Scarce, Rare, & Fine Example Of A Civil War Wooden Patent Model Of A Fortress Battery Cannon!
