This Third Issue Detective Special represents one of Colt's finest compact double-action revolvers and remains one of the most respected concealed-carry revolvers ever produced. Built during Colt's classic era of revolver craftsmanship, it combines superb balance, reliability, and the hand-fitted action that made Colt revolvers legendary.
Featuring the desirable 2 inch barrel, original checkered walnut grips with gold Colt medallions, fixed rear notch sight, and front ramp sight, this revolver displays the outstanding fit, finish, and polish that collectors seek in vintage Colts.
Condition is best described as collector grade and as new. The revolver retains an exceptional original Royal Blue finish with virtually no evidence of handling or use. Barrel markings remain sharp, the bore is bright, and the action is exceptionally smooth in both double-action and single-action operation. The cylinder exhibits little to no visible rotation mark, reflecting the remarkable level of preservation seen throughout the revolver.
