WHAT’S INCLUDED: REVOLVER
This Smith & Wesson K-38 Masterpiece is the real deal from the golden age of postwar American target revolvers. Built before the Model 14 designation appeared in 1957, this is a proper pre-model-number K-38 with the desirable five-screw K-frame and a 6-inch ribbed target barrel. The K88995 serial number places it in 1950 production, right in the sweet spot for early postwar Smith craftsmanship.
The K-38 was built to stack wadcutters into tight groups, and everything about this revolver shows that purpose. The Patridge front sight, micrometer click-adjustable rear sight, long sight radius, and smooth K-frame balance make it a serious paper-punching machine. This one has the kind of feel that reminds shooters why old Smith target revolvers still carry such a strong reputation.
The square-butt frame wears checkered walnut Magna stocks with diamond escutcheons and gold S&W medallions, matching the correct early postwar style. The serrated target trigger, checkered hammer, and six-groove grip frame give it that proper old-school target setup. The five-screw frame is a major collector feature, especially on a clean K-38 with the original pre-Model 14 character intact.
Chambered in .38 Special, this revolver delivers mild recoil, excellent mechanical precision, and the kind of controllable shooting experience that made the K-38 famous.
