Description:
General Specs: Marlin, circa 2015, .45-70, 8lbs. 7oz., LOP 13 5/8"
Serial Number:  MR55014G

Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer this Marlin 1895SBL. Marlin, truly needs no introduction, founded in the mid to late 19th century, was Winchester’s main rival, producing revolvers, rifles, and shotguns. After 10 years as the underdog, Marlin eventually dethroned Winchester in the late 1800s as the primary producer of American lever guns and is currently the main supplier of Lever actions in the United States. Marlin’s 1893 design underwent a series of upgrades in the early 20th century, eventually in the late 1940s the Marlin’s Model 336 emerged, featuring its distinctive open ejection port and round bolt. The 336 action made way for all manner of calibers and configurations, notably the model 1895 chambered in .45-70 introduced in the 1970s, named after the original square bolt Marlin Model 1895. This example, serial number MR55014G, produced between 2010 and 2017, retains 99% stainless steel finish on all parts. The 18.5” barrel has a mirror 9.5/10 bore and is fitted with grey laminate furniture and a large loop lever. It also comes mounted with an XS Lever Rail, providing ample space to mount your 1913 Picatinny optic of choice. Included with this “Stainless Big Loop” is its box, owner’s manual, safety locks, and offset hammer spur. Overall, a nice handy lever gun well suited for your next big game hunting trip.
