Description:
Sears & Roebuck J.C. Higgins Model 101.25 - .410 Gauge - Vintage/Fair Condition - C&R Eligible
J.C. Higgins Model 101.25 – Vintage Bolt-Action .410 – A Piece of Sears History
For sale is a Sears & Roebuck J.C. Higgins Model 101.25 bolt-action shotgun, chambered in .410 Gauge (2.5" and 3" shells). This shotgun is in vintage/fair condition and represents a classic piece of American retail history – a budget-friendly shotgun sold through the Sears catalog under the J.C. Higgins brand. It is old enough to be C&R eligible (Curio & Relic).
The J.C. Higgins Model 101.25 was manufactured for Sears by Savage/Stevens and is essentially the Stevens 59A bolt-action shotgun. It features a 24-inch barrel with a tube magazine, a 3-inch chamber that accepts both 2.5" and 3" shells, and a smooth semi-pistol grip stock. The finish is fading and the sight is broken off – a well-worn vintage piece with plenty of character. No visible serial number is present on this shotgun.
Important Safety Note: Due to the age of this firearm, we highly recommend inspecting the bolt assembly, firing pin, and overall function before live-firing. These were budget shotguns of their era, and at this age, there may be things that need attention. Sold as-is.

  • Savage/Stevens Origin: This Model 101.25 was made by Savage/Stevens – essentially a cut down and more more budget friendly Stevens 59A.
  • Budget-Friendly Quality: These were low-priced guns that gave a lot of bang for the buck – affordable and functional.
  • C&R Eligible: This shotgun is old enough to qualify as a Curio & Relic firearm.
