Description:
The M48A is a famous bolt-action surplus rifle built by the Zastava Works in Kragujevac, Serbia. The stamp "Preduzece 44" translates to "Enterprise 44," which was the Yugoslav government's secret military factory code used to hide the true manufacturing origin during the early Cold War. Following World War II, Yugoslavia needed to re-equip its military. They either refurbished captured German Kar98k rifles or produced brand-new variants. The M48A was a cost-saving improvement over the original M48. It features more stamped metal parts (such as the barrel bands and floorplate) rather than the expensive machined, milled parts of the standard M48.
