Description:
For your consideration, we offer this Winchester Model 1894 saddle ring carbine in caliber 30 WCF aka 30-30 Winchester made in 1907. It has the special order features of a shotgun butt with hard rubber butt plate and factory screw eyes for the Winchester sling. All other features are standard: 20" round barrel, full magazine, plain walnut stocks, plain trigger, blued and case hardened finish, pinned blade post front sight and carbine ladder rear sight marked 0 to 20. To add to the special features, it is also 1 of only 124 currently documented Model 1894s with the Error Date barrel address, where the barrel die was made with a mix of the Model 1892 and 1894 patent dates: the 1892 is October 14, 1884, and the 1894 is August 21, 1894, with the error date address reading August 14, 1894, as shown in the picture of the barrel, and well-documented by Robert Renneberg in his Winchester Model 94 books. Cody Museum email sheet confirms the configuration and will be given to the buyer.

CONDITION: Receiver mostly a light patina with stronger blue at the back end, especially under the saddle ring. Hammer and lever retain traces of the original case hardening. Barrel retains 20% original finish turned patina. Mag tube retains 65% brighter blue at the back end drifting to plum as you go toward the muzzle. Original sights are intact. All markings remain sharp and clear. Stocks are sound with no splits are cracks, exhibiting expected nicks, scratches, dings and scuffs of a 100 year old firearm that certainly saw some time in the deer woods. The forearm is grooved ahead of the barrel band caused by the screw eye from having the band loosened and/or removed at some point. Mainspring is very strong, providing a very solid half cock safety as well as full cock position for firing. The bore in the nickel steel barrel is a little dark and may clean better, retaining sharp rifling and just minor frost and fouling, call it a 7.5 of 10 which should improve, and should spin a bullet just fine. Have a competent gunsmith give it a check up before use as I have not had time to test-fire it. All in all a nice representative special order 1894 saddle ring caliber in a desirable configuration and having the Error Date barrel oddity to boot!

TERMS: Must ship to FFL or C&R holder. New York State buyers no C&R. Payment by personal check, bank check or USPS money order. All major credit cards accepted with 3% added as you lose the cash discount. 3 day non firing inspection. Buyer pays return shipping. Packed with care and shipped by FedEx Ground with tracking.
