A Husqvarna rifle chambered in .243 Winchester with a 20" barrel describes a collectible, lightweight vintage Swedish sporting rifle. While Husqvarna is famous today for chainsaws and motorcycles, from 1689 until 1989 they manufactured some of the finest, smoothest bolt-action hunting rifles in the world. Built from roughly 1953 to 1969, this is a "small-ring" Mauser action optimized for short-to-medium length cartridges. Because the .243 Winchester cartridge was introduced in 1955, Husqvarna rifles chambered for it were only produced between the late 1950s and the early 1970s, making them highly sought-after and relatively scarce compared to traditional European calibers. .243 Winchester
