The Smith & Wesson Model 19-5 configured with a 2.5-inch barrel is a highly collectible, medium-frame double-action revolver chambered in .357 Magnum. Known as the "Combat Magnum," the "-5" engineering dash code represents a major transition era for Smith & Wesson manufacturing. Introduced in 1982, the 19-5 variant permanently eliminated the pinned barrel design and the counter-bored (recessed) cylinder chambers.
