Payment Types Accepted: Personal Check or Money Order Description: Winchester Model 12 Black Diamond – Rare Factory Matted Rib – 12 Gauge – 30" Full Choke – Special Order Configuration Offered is an exceptional pre-war Winchester Model 12 Black Diamond 12 gauge pump shotgun manufactured in 1928, serial number 425524. This is an outstanding collector-grade example featuring one of the rarest factory barrel configurations encountered on a pre-war Model 12—a factory matted rib, not the commonly seen solid raised rib. This shotgun retains its matching serial-numbered receiver and barrel assembly, with serial number 425524 stamped on both the receiver and barrel extension. The barrel also exhibits the proper factory offset Winchester proof mark, further supporting its originality as assembled by Winchester. The 30-inch Nickel Steel barrel is factory marked FULL and carries crisp, sharp barrel markings. The factory matted rib is beautifully executed with fine, even machine matting extending nearly the full length of the barrel, terminating in the original front sight bead. Factory matted-rib hunting Model 12s were produced in extremely limited numbers and are seldom encountered today. Winchester offered numerous special-order variations during the pre-war years, and uncommon barrel and rib combinations are highly sought after by advanced collectors. The shotgun is fitted with a beautiful Black Diamond pistol-grip stock featuring the correct ebony diamond inlays on both sides of the wrist. The highly figured walnut displays exceptional feather crotch figure and marble grain throughout the buttstock, while the matching checkered forearm complements the overall appearance perfectly. There is a solid 1" crack on the forearm that is stable. Wood-to-metal fit is excellent. The shotgun has a perid Winchester recoil pad, correctly marked:( I had Turnbull at this pad) WINCHESTER Made in U.S.A. Pat. June 6, 1922 Overall condition is exceptional. The metal retains an outstanding deep Winchester blue with sharp edges and crisp markings. The wood remains equally impressive with only light handling marks expected of a carefully preserved ninety-plus-year-old shotgun. Specifications
