Payment Types Accepted: Personal Check or Money Order Description: The gun has not been redone.  It is a near mint Spanish “El Tigre” Lever Action Rifle – Winchester 1892 Pattern – .44-40 – Excellent Condition Offered here is a classic and highly collectible “El Tigre” lever-action rifle, manufactured by Garate, Anitua y Cia., Eibar, Spain—one of the better-known and more respected Spanish makers of the early 20th century. This rifle is a faithful copy of the legendary Winchester Model 1892 and was widely used by Spanish police and guard units. These rifles have developed a strong following among Winchester collectors and Western firearm enthusiasts alike. Markings & Identification Clearly marked: “GARATE ANITUA Y CIA EIBAR-ESPAÑA” Receiver marked: “MARCA REGISTRADA TIGRE MODELO PATENTADO” Features the desirable running tiger logo Serial number: A21968  Mid to late 1920s Also the number “31” is marked on the top of the butt plate and on the end of the magazine tube.  Condition This rifle is in in excellent overall condition, especially for its age: Metal finish: Strong original blue with only light handling wear Wood: Attractive wood with good grain and a clean, honest appearance Markings: Sharp and fully legible throughout Action: Functions properly with smooth lever operation The gun still has the original ramrod in the butt of the gun.
