Manufactured 1914, this is an honest, original example of one of Savage's most desirable early lever-action carbines. Featuring the iconic rotary magazine with cartridge counter, factory saddle ring, and 20-inch round barrel, this rifle embodies the quality and innovation that made the Model 1899 famous.
This rifle remains in original sporting configuration and has not been drilled or tapped for a scope. The action operates smoothly, and the rifle retains its factory folding rear sight and blade front sight. The bore is a standout feature—bright with sharp, well-defined rifling, making this an excellent shooter as well as a collectible.
