The barrel and magazine of this 1917-made carbine retain about 75-80% thinning blue with light handling marks and thinning to brown-gray on the rear half of the magazine. The receiver and lever have almost completely toned to bright gunmetal gray with some mild oxidation staining and remnants of original bright blue lurking about the protected areas. The plain walnut buttstock rates very good as-cleaned with some scattered light dings, edges a little shy of metal and a filled hole on the right side where a compass probably once was. The forend appears to be gumwood and shows some light abrasions and a thin crack at the nose. The lower tang screw shows heavy slot wear, while the other screws show lighter wear. The carbine features a three-leaf express rear sight and Lyman bead front sight. The saddle ring is intact. A salty vintage Model 94 made during the Great War.
