Description:
12 Ga | Fixed Choke (Full & IM) | 27 ½" Barrels

William Evans, established by a gunsmith previously of Purdey, remains a hallmark of the prestigious London trade known for producing some of the world’s most refined sporting arms. This 12-gauge hammer gun, manufactured in 1895, reflects the pinnacle of Victorian design intended for the classic English field.

This specific unit is presented in excellent condition, featuring a rotary under-lever action and a tapered solid rib bearing the distinguished "William Evans (from Purdeys) 4 Pall Mall St James London" inscription. The English walnut stock displays sharp checkering across the straight grip and fore-end with only slight varnish wear, while the 27 ½-inch barrels remain in superb order with the exception of an insignificant mark on the rib.

Mechanically, the gun locks up tight as new and the non-rebounding locks function with a crisp, reliable strike. Configured with a 14 ¼-inch length of pull, fixed Full and Improved Modified chokes, and 2 ½-inch chambers, this extractors-equipped piece weighing 6 lbs 9 ? oz offers a rare opportunity to own a functional London masterpiece.
