Here Ancestry Guns present a C&R G. Zabala / Richland Arms Model 200 Double Barrel Side by Side 10 Gauge Shotgun, made circa 1974 in Zaldibar, Spain. G. Zabala y Cia S.A. was incorporated in 1962 in Zaldibar, in the Basque region of Spain by F. Aldabaldetrecu, J.A. Arrúe, J.L. Sotés, I. Zabala and G. Zabala. Initially the firm produced SxS shotguns and in 1973 Over/Unders, when the name was changed to Lanber Armas S.A.
These shotguns were imported to the United States by Richland Arms of Blissfield, Michigan. This example features a 18-1/4” barrel with 3-1/2” chambers with an extractor. It has a checkered pistol grip stock.
Overall condition is nearing fine. The barrels have been refinished. Original finish on the frame. Storeng action. The bores have some shimmer, remain smooth and show streaking toward the muzzle. Solid stock and forarm with light checkering. The wood is proud around the bottom of the frame and trigger guard. Makings are clear and legible. The frame is lightly engraved. Some cracking in the rubber buttplate. “MET” is hand inscribed onto the trigger guard.
