Browning Auto-5 | Belgium Made | Early 1950s Production | Standard Grade | 28 Inch Full Choke Barrel The Belgium-made Browning Auto-5 stands among the most iconic sporting shotguns ever produced. Designed by John M. Browning and manufactured by Fabrique Nationale of Belgium, the Auto-5 established the standard for semi-automatic sporting shotguns and remains one of the most recognizable shotgun designs in firearms history. This example is an early 1950s Belgian-produced Standard Grade Auto-5, featuring the classic scroll engraving package, walnut furniture, and the distinctive humpback receiver profile that made the Auto-5 famous with sportsmen around the world. The shotgun is fitted with a 28-inch Special Steel barrel clearly marked FULL, indicating a factory Full Choke configuration. The barrel retains its Belgian markings and proof marks, confirming its original FN production heritage. The receiver displays the attractive Standard Grade scroll engraving found on premium Belgian-production Auto-5s of the period. Unlike later utility-grade guns, these early Belgian examples showcase the craftsmanship and attention to detail that built Browning's reputation among American hunters.
