An original sealed 200-round battle pack of Hirtenberger Patronenfabrik 7.62×51mm wooden-bullet military training ammunition. Manufactured in Hirtenberg, Austria, this ammunition remains enclosed within its original dark military storage wrapper with the factory contents label still attached and clearly legible. The exterior label identifies the contents as “200 Cartridges cal. 7,62 mm × 51 WOODEN BULLET” and bears the distinctive HP Hirtenberger trademark. The packaging represents the compact moisture-resistant battle-pack format used to protect military ammunition during transport, depot storage, and field distribution.
Wooden-bullet cartridges were developed for military training and blank-firing applications. Instead of a conventional metal projectile, each cartridge was loaded with a lightweight wooden bullet intended to disintegrate or break apart during firing. Ammunition of this type was commonly used for maneuver exercises, weapon-function training, and other controlled military applications.
Hirtenberger Patronenfabrik was one of Austria’s best-known ammunition manufacturers and produced a broad range of military, commercial, and law-enforcement cartridges.
