The Smith & Wesson Model 10 has earned its place as one of the most respected service revolvers ever built, serving military personnel, police officers, and armed citizens for generations. This 1979 Model 10-8 represents one of the later engineering improvements to the legendary Military & Police line while retaining the classic styling collectors appreciate. Finished in attractive factory bright nickel and fitted with its original numbered walnut Magna stocks, it is an outstanding example of a classic K-frame revolver.
The 4-inch tapered barrel gives the revolver exceptional balance and natural handling characteristics. Smith & Wesson's renowned double-action lockwork delivers a smooth trigger pull with a crisp single-action break, making the Model 10 equally enjoyable on the range or as part of a classic revolver collection. The fixed sights are rugged, simple, and perfectly regulated for practical shooting with standard .38 Special ammunition.
Visual inspection confirms the revolver retains its factory square-butt K-frame configuration along with original checkered walnut Magna grips featuring silver Smith & Wesson medallions. The nickel finish remains bright with only light handling and holster wear visible, while the matching serial number stamped on the grip adapter further supports originality. The cylinder, barrel markings, and frame markings all appear correct for a late-1970s factory nickel Model 10-8.
Chambered in the legendary .38 Special cartridge, the Model 10 offers mild recoil, excellent inherent accuracy, and exceptional reliability.
