Unlike traditional direct impingement carbines, the MCX Spear utilizes a proven short-stroke gas piston operating system that dramatically reduces fouling and heat inside the receiver while maintaining excellent reliability under adverse conditions. The 16-inch nitrided barrel features a fast 1:7 twist optimized for the full spectrum of modern 5.56 NATO ammunition. The factory-installed SIG QD flash hider provides excellent flash suppression while serving as a suppressor-compatible mounting interface for Sig's quick-attach suppressor systems.
Fully ambidextrous controls place the safety selector, magazine release, bolt catch, and charging handle within immediate reach regardless of shooting position. The lightweight free-float M-LOK handguard offers excellent balance while maximizing accessory placement. Combined with the crisp factory two-stage trigger and rigid monolithic upper receiver, the rifle provides excellent practical accuracy and confident handling whether firing from supported positions or on the move.
The MCX Spear was designed from the ground up for today's mission requirements.
