Description:
Marlin's first commercially produced shotgun was the Model 1898. It was designed to compete with the successful Winchester Model 1897. Approximately 55,000 units were manufactured during its seven-year production run. The Model 1898 spawned a long line of Marlin pump shotguns including the Models 16, 17, 19, 21, 24, and others produced through 1933. Exact dating requires contacting the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, as they hold Marlin's firearms records from this era. No box or case with this one. 12 Gauge
