The Perazzi MX8 B (Bunker) is a purpose-built competition shotgun designed for the demanding world of Olympic bunker trap, live pigeon shooting, and Columbaire. Built on Perazzi's legendary detachable trigger group action, the MX8 B combines exceptional reliability, fast lock time, and world-class handling with the artistry of master Italian engraving. This 1997 example is further distinguished by exquisite engraving from Master Engraver Lorenzo Gamba and spectacular exhibition-grade walnut.
Chambered in 12 gauge with 2.75-inch chambers, the shotgun is fitted with 29.5-inch barrels featuring an 11mm straight matted rib and a red fiber-optic front bead. The bottom barrel is threaded for Perazzi interchangeable choke tubes, while the top barrel is fixed Extra Full (.063"), making it ideally suited for long-range target disciplines. The gun weighs 8 pounds 5.8 ounces, providing the deliberate swing and stability preferred by serious competition shooters.
Built on Perazzi's renowned detachable trigger group action, the shotgun features a single non-selective trigger, ejectors, and non-automatic safety. Mechanically, it remains in very good overall condition. The bores are clear, the action is smooth and locks up tightly, the trigger is crisp, and the ejectors are strong and in time.
The coin-finished receiver is beautifully engraved with flowing floral acanthus scroll by Master Engraver Lorenzo Gamba, whose signature appears beside the trigger guard. The action is further enhanced by a pierced top lever featuring a gold-inlaid crown, while the blued steel barrels complement the elegant receiver. The action has a light coat of protective oil. Included are an outstanding selection of choke tubes consisting of five factory Perazzi tubes (#0, #4, #6, #8, and #10) along with a Briley Gemini extended and ported #7 choke tube, plus the original Perazzi choke wrench.
The shotgun is stocked with spectacular exhibition-grade walnut configured for a left-handed shooter. The large pistol grip incorporates a pronounced left-hand palm swell, making it particularly well suited for shooters with larger hands. The grip is intentionally left smooth rather than checkered, allowing the exceptional figure of the walnut to take center stage, while the matching forend features sharp diamond-point checkering.
The gun is housed in its original Perazzi ABS hard case with a red felt interior, Perazzi embossed exterior, and stitched Perazzi logo inside. The package also includes the original red felt barrel sleeves, a spare leaf spring, spare strikers, and an additional recoil pad, making it an exceptionally complete competition package.
