This listing is for an original Soviet military surplus sealed spam can containing 440 rounds of 7.62×54mmR LPS Light Ball ammunition. Packed in a hermetically sealed steel container, these tins were designed for decades of long-term military storage and remain one of the most recognizable forms of Cold War surplus ammunition. The can has never been opened and still retains its factory seal.
Inside are 440 military cartridges, typically packaged in twenty-two paper-wrapped bundles of twenty rounds each. The ammunition features copper-washed steel cases, Berdan primers, and full metal jacket light ball projectiles with a mild steel core. As is standard with Soviet military production of this era, the ammunition is corrosive primed and should be cleaned accordingly after firing. The 440-round packaging configuration is the standard Soviet issue for 7.62×54mmR light ball ammunition.
The exterior stencil markings remain partially visible despite age-related oxidation and handling wear, preserving the authentic military appearance collectors seek. The can displays honest storage wear from decades of arsenal storage while remaining unopened.
