This Winchester model 42 serial #88198 dates to 1951 comes with a 3in. 28 in. Modified barrel.. As the pictures show it is in very nice condition. The bluing is very nice for its age and also the wood stock. I am selling this Winchester for my cousin whom I am very close and grew up together. This gun belonged to his grandfather which was passed down to his father and now to him. My cousin was born in 1953. While growing up he never remembered his grandfather buying any new guns. So our conclusion is he could have bought it new or a short while after that. It's as close to the history since new I could get.
