The Springfield Armory EMP (Enhanced Micro Pistol) is a premium, single-action semi-automatic pistol featuring a 3.25-inch match-grade barrel. It is a highly specialized variant of the classic 1911 platform, uniquely re-engineered from the ground up specifically for the 9mm Luger cartridge rather than simply adapting a larger .45 ACP frame. The frame, slide, firing pin, extractor, ejector, trigger, and magazine are all uniquely downsized for the 9mm cartridge. This reduction yields a noticeably slimmer grip circumference, making it exceptionally comfortable for shooters with smaller hands and vastly improving concealability 3.25-inch heavy bull barrel omits the traditional 1911 barrel bushing. It locks up directly against the slide, which enhances inherent accuracy and mitigates snappiness. 9MM
