Description:
Serial #D 1893, .38/200 British, 5" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This 1934-dated revolver has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, and barrel with the metal retaining about 92-95% of the original matte blue finish that has mild silvering along the high edges and projections, as well as some mild freckling, mostly along the barrel, topstrap, and cylinder. The markings are crisp and clear, including the post-war Birmingham commercial proofs, and the Royal Air Force "RAF" stamp on the right side of the frame below the cylinder still has fairly bright underlying metal visible. The Mk. 1 checkered walnut grips are in very good shape with numerous minor handling marks and small surface blemishes, heaviest on the right panel, and there is some flattening of the points on both sides. The action lock-up is tight and fully functional, with no lateral play in the barrel, and this is an excellent example of a pre-war, RAF-used No. 2 revolver. FFL or C&R;
