Description:

Remington Rand 1911A1 US Military pistol, caliber .45 ACP, SN: 1285904. Standard configuration pistol with a serrated ramp front sight and a notched, drift adjustable rear sight. The left side of the slide is marked “REMINGTON RAND INC. / SYRACUSE, N.Y. U.S.A.,” with the right side of the frame marked “UNITED STATES PROPERTY / NO. 1285904” and “M1911 A1 U.S. ARMY.” Checkered mainspring housing. Parkerized finish with blued small parts to include the hammer, thumb safety, trigger, magazine button retainer, screws and assorted pins. “P” proof on top of slide and left side of frame near the magazine release button, the left side of the frame marked “FJA”, the ordnance wheel on the right tang area - all the proofs and inspection markings having cut through the parkerized finish. Disassembly showing a High Standard barrel, with a "P" on the left side of the lug and an "HS" on the right side of the lug. Checkered brown plastic grips with screw head reinforcing rings. Blued magazine with five indicator holes and fixed floorplate marked "L" on inner toe. Included with the pistol are 2 spare magazines wrapped in green military preservative tape, and a reproduction ordnance box with matching SN labeled for Pistol, Automatic, Cal. .45, M1911A1, with Remington Rand listed as the magazine assembly contractor.

Condition:

Beautiful pistol retaining 99% of its original parkerizing, close inspection showing the "P" proofs, inspector markings, SN, and inner grip escutcheons having cut through the parkerizing to show bright metal. The wear on the barrel hood has been touched up with cold blue. Crisp original grips and primary magazine. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. Spare magazines in their original sealed military wrapping. EXC reproduction kraft box.
