The Mossberg 500 20-Gauge Shotgun with a 28-inch barrel is a highly versatile, lightweight pump-action shotgun designed primarily for field hunting and clay shooting [Mossberg 500 Field]. By matching the softer recoil and lighter carrying weight of a 20-gauge frame with a long, smooth-swinging 28-inch barrel, this configuration is a favorite for upland bird hunting, waterfowl hunting, and teaching younger or recoil-sensitive shooters. The 28-inch barrel features internal threads to accept Mossberg's interchangeable Accu-Choke tubes. It typically ships with Improved Cylinder, Modified, and Full chokes, allowing you to quickly alter your pellet spread depending on whether you are hunting close-range quail or high-flying ducks. Like its tactical 590 counterparts, the Model 500 utilizes twin parallel steel action bars to connect the pump forearm to the bolt assembly.
